Casa del Rio was a dream that had been in the making for several years. Mrs. Sharon Harper and Dr. Harold Gries, of the locally owned and operated Plaza Companies , are the owners, developers, and managers of Casa del Rio. While many communities are bought and sold throughout the years , Casa is proud to state that Mrs. Harper and Dr. Gries have continued their personal interest and commitment to Casa for over 20 years!

Mrs. Harper has expertise in the field of land, commercial, and senior residential development. Her active leadership role in Arizona, as well as focused commitment to excellence in the fields of senior living, technology and research, and medical office facilities, assures our residents that Casa del Rio will always be the best it can be.

Dr. Gries has responded to the needs and wants of the Sun City area residents as a family physician since 1970. On hand the day Boswell Hospital opened its doors, Dr. Gries knows and loves the Sun City area and its’ residents. He brought this caring to senior living and our residents.

Mrs. Harper and Dr. Gries’ partnership have successfully designed and constructed several projects on the 185-acre Plaza del Rio Campus. It is their commitment and ability, not only to conceive and build projects well, but to stay involved.

The Plaza Companies has developed senior living communities with Hyatt in Scottsdale and Mather LifeWays in Tucson and the company enjoys a distinguished reputation in the field of medical research, technology and senior living communities throughout the State of Arizona.

The special pride so apparent at Casa del Rio today, is the result of that very personal interest to provide excellence to our Casa residents - the commitment made by Mrs. Harper and Dr. Gries when construction began.
